Farmers for Climate action field day
Wednesday 3 August 2022, 11am to 2pm - Weegena (near Deloraine)
Farmers for Climate actions's Tas network are holding a field day at the property of Sam and Stephanie Tretheway, the Tasmanaian Agricultural Company. Tas Ag Co became the first farm in Tasmania to register a soil carbon project through Australia’s $2.5 billion Emissions Reduction Fund, using the only soil carbon measuring protocol eligible under the United Nations Paris Agreement. By farming this way, the Tas Ag Co wants to present farming as a solution to climate change, taking carbon from the atmosphere and putting it back in the soil.
