    Private Forests Tasmania’s Tree Alliance hold a number of events throughout the year including informative field days, forums and webinars.

    The Growing the Future Webinar Series is designed to provide engaging information and insight on topics relating to trees on farms, from a diverse and expert range of speakers.

    The live sessions are interactive, providing an opportunity to ask questions and access shared resources. Sessions are also recorded and are available for viewing under our RESOURCES tab.

    Farmers for Climate action field day

    Wednesday 3 August 2022, 11am to 2pm - Weegena (near Deloraine)

    Farmers for Climate actions's Tas network are holding a field day at the property of Sam and Stephanie Tretheway, the Tasmanaian Agricultural Company.  Tas Ag Co became the first farm in Tasmania to register a soil carbon project through Australia’s $2.5 billion Emissions Reduction Fund, using the only soil carbon measuring protocol eligible under the United Nations Paris Agreement. By farming this way, the Tas Ag Co wants to present farming as a solution to climate change, taking carbon from the atmosphere and putting it back in the soil.

    Presented by the Forest Practices Authority.  Climate change poses a considerable challenge to forest managers.  This one-day symposium provides an overview of key issues likely to be faced in Tasmanian production forests under a changing climate, as well as outlining potential adaption options.

    The Forestry Australia 2022 Symposium will be from Thursday 20 – Saturday 22 October in person at the Albury Entertainment Centre and also online as a virtual event.

    The theme of the Symposium Leading, adapting and reimagining – the future of forestry, will facilitate conversation and collaboration, focussed on the future of our sector. We will discuss the challenges and opportunities before us, and explore strategies that address and create a bright and innovative future for forestry in Australia.
